This site is dedicated to Peter
Sallis, Norman Clegg on Last of the Summer Wine, who has been there from the start and never quit after 30 years! Congratulations!
As you can tell, I'm a BIG fan of Last of
the Summer Wine, from when it started airing on my local PBS station in 2001. I enjoyed every minute since. I
would drain out the week, just WAITING for the show to come on. Here in Iowa it airs at 8:30PM on Saturdays and 10:30PM
on Mondays.
My favourite character is Norman Clegg, played
by Peter Sallis, whom I got a reply from when I sent a letter to him 6 Jan 2003. Of course I like the others like Tom,
Smiler, Howard, Pearl, Barry, Glenda, Edie, Ivy, Mrs. Petal Avery, Nora Batty, Billy, Truly, Auntie Wainwright,
Marina, Wesley (God rest his soul, who died May 2002.)
My favourite episode is "The Art of Shorts
Story." Tom Owen is incredibly funny in that episode, as he is in "Getting Barry's Goat." I wish I could see the
older episodes with Compo and Foggy but I emailed IPTV (Iowa Public Television; PBS) and said that they would
not be showing any episode older than the year 2000.
Here below are screenshots of "It All Started
With A Volvo Headlamp", and "Getting Barry's Goat." I will have more to show you later on. I will be updating
this site as much as I can. As you know, you can catch Last of the Summer Wine on your local PBS station, but if in
the UK, you can catch new episodes on Sundays on BBC1 at 5:45PM right after the BBC London News!
