Woah, it's a long way up here in northwest Iowa let me tell you that!
The Pamida store in Hawarden, at the Iowa/South Dakota border, closed in September 1999 due to safety precautions.
It opened back up in early 2000, and everyone is happy to have it back!
July 5, 2003 I went on quite a road trip reaching points such as Cherokee, Storm Lake, and Ida Grove. I finally
got to see the Pamida in Ida Grove. It's located next to the Food Pride in the Oak Grove Plaza (has lots of castles
in Ida Grove). I didn't get a chance to go inside because Pamida closes at 8PM on Saturdays. I looked inside and
it has three checkouts. I couldn't see much of anything else. But the trip to the Kmart in Cherokee made up for
it.
